ERP: IFS Cloud in Central Role when the Inventor of the World’s First Click Floor Technology Prepare his Company for Global Expansion

“This cloud solution can help us manage everything from the supply chain and manufacturing to maintenance and finance,” says Global IT Director at BJELIN Group, ERIK ARESKOG ELMING.
As the flooring group Bjelin enters a strong industrial growth phase, one of the initiatives is to sharpen the business system setup. They required a modern, flexible enterprise solution that could support scalable operations and provide end-to-end process control - from raw timber to finished floor. The answer to these needs was IFS Cloud. What is the background to the investment?
The inventor of click flooring technology, Darko Pervan, has built a $190 million industry–the yearly turnover for the group as of late 2024/early 2025–around his ideas and has been working on reshaping his flooring empire for some time. The now 78-year-old entrepreneur has planned and acted to put his life's work on the stock exchange. This has brought about a number of changes to the organization of the entire business.
At the beginning of the year, Pervan's owner company, Pervanovo Invest, with the support of the American venture capital company Strategic Value Partners (SVP), took over the business that handles the industrial parts in manufacturing. SVP invested €200 million in this.
The next step came in April, earlier this year, when seven companies were brought together under one and the same umbrella, through the Bjelin Group. This strategic move was about implementing a new growth phase with a strong industrial focus. After significant investments in manufacturing capacity, the company is now well positioned to deliver large volumes of flooring to the global market.
In parallel with this chain of events, IFS now announces that Bjelin Group has selected the industrial AI-fuelled IFS Cloud platform to optimize and scale its global operations.
In summary, Bjelin Group is implementing IFS Cloud to modernize and harmonize central processes within supply chain, manufacturing, finance, purchasing and maintenance. The solution will support the company's long-term growth strategy and provide increased visibility and efficiency across seven production sites and several international distribution centers.
“To deliver on our growth ambitions, we needed to modernize and unify the way we run our operations. IFS Cloud gives us a single platform with the depth and flexibility to manage everything from supply chain and manufacturing to maintenance and finance. It will help us scale with control, speed, and confidence," comments Erik Areskog Elming.
The implementation on the IFS side is handled by the partner ADDOVATION.

The decision to invest in IFS comes at a critical time for Bjelin Group. As mentioned in the intro they have made significant investments in manufacturing capacity to position the enterprise for large volume deliveries of flooring to a global market.
“It is a challenging market environment and manufacturers like Bjelin are demonstrating foresight by investing in digital capabilities that will strengthen their resilience and agility. With IFS Cloud, Bjelin is not only modernizing its operations but also laying the foundation to scale efficiently and respond with confidence to shifting industry demands,” sums up Ann-Kristin Sander, CEO of the Nordics at IFS.

To be Implemented by Addovation
The implementation project will be delivered by Addovation, a long-standing IFS partner, in collaboration with IFS and the Bjelin team. In this, the Bjelin Group’s digital capabilities will be transformed by IFS Cloud, enabling end-to-end visibility and scalability across its global operations.
Not least notable in the context is that IFS has succeeded well in its ambitions to create cutting-edge AI-connected solutions on the Cloud platform. This is a fully modular, fully composable AI-driven platform, designed for flexibility and adaptability to specific customer requirements and business development. It covers the needs of ERP, EAM (Enterprise Asset Management), SCM (Supply Chain Management) and FSM (Field Service Management). The technology leverages AI, machine learning, real-time data and analytics to provide a basis for well-informed strategic decisions.
Generally, IFS has grown to become a midmarket global leader with over 7,000 employees in 80 countries.

PRIZE-WINNER. As recently as May 2025, the inventor of the world’s first mechanical locking system for floor panels (click flooring), Darko Pervan, received the 2025 Royal Corporate Medal from Swedens’s Prince Daniel. Pervan–Välinge Innovation and the Bjelin Group–received the medal for, “having developed the flooring industry with a smart invention and created a world-leading company.” In 1994, Pervan founded Välinge Innovation in 1994 to test and realize an idea. The invention, which was as simple as it was ingenious, was a clickable floor that made it possible to lay floors without glue or nails. 100 million bottles of glue became redundant every year. This technology was a world premiere and revolutionized the industry.

Automated Transactions
In the press release, IFS writes that, “Bjelin Group is implementing IFS Cloud to modernize and harmonize core business processes across supply chain, manufacturing, finance, purchasing and maintenance. The implementation will support Bjelin’s long-term growth strategy and improve visibility and efficiency across seven manufacturing sites and multiple global distribution centers.”

IFS Cloud will be used to plan and schedule manufacturing across all Bjelin’s production sites, as well as optimize inventory levels in both global and local distribution warehouses. The company will also use the platform to streamline its order-to-cash processes, including automated intercompany transactions, and to enable more efficient planning across multiple sites and increased process automation. In addition, IFS Cloud’s Enterprise Asset Management capabilities will be used to maintain critical assets at Bjelin’s manufacturing sites.
