Swedish Business System Consultant IMPLEMA Buys CoreChange’s SAP and BI Pieces

WELL-KNOWN for its RAPID SAP and MICROSOFT DYNAMICS IMPLEMENTATIONS. Swedish business systems consultant Implema today announced that it is taking a big step forward in its growth strategy. With the purchase of CoreChange's SAP and Business Intelligence operations, the prominent Swedish Microsoft Dynamics and SAP consultant reaches a revenue milestone, with half a billion SEK, corresponding to around $46 million in terms of consolidated turnover.
In the press release, Implema's CEO and co-founder, Jörgen Aronsson, notes that both Implema and CoreChange's SAP and BI operations have had a successful 2024 with strong and profitable growth and several new customers. Moreover, he claims that Implema as Sweden's leading specialist in rapid implementation of SAP and Microsoft Dynamics, has strengthen its position with this acquisition.
Through the deal, Implema can welcome just over sixty highly competent consultants with expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fieldglass, SAP Ariba, SAP transformation and Business Intelligence. The new consultants will join Implema's offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, respectively. This means, among other things, that Implema will have a significantly increased presence in Gothenburg, with a significantly larger customer base and more than doubled delivery capacity.
"With the acquisition, we are getting really talented consultants with strong expertise in SAP and Business Intelligence and an interesting customer portfolio. Their products, services and customers complement Implema in an excellent way. This broadening of our expertise sharpens our ability to meet our customers' future needs and to take on larger and more complex projects at even more companies,” comments Aronsson.
Erik Glasmästar, Head of Business Solutions and BI at CoreChange, points out that the companies share values and have similar business cultures.
“We see great benefits for both our customers and employees. We become part of an organization with extensive experience in business systems and SAP, where we share values, entrepreneurial spirit and culture. Together, we will be better positioned to deliver comprehensive solutions with established methods, tools and a strong management offering. The increased financial strength and larger company size create increased trust and allow us to grow faster. All of this will benefit our customers and give them the security to entrust us with larger and more strategic projects,” he says.

The merger is also welcomed by SAP:

”Implema and CoreChange are two strong players and partners for us at SAP, with complementary competencies and target groups. We are very positive that Implema is now merging with CoreChange’s SAP business and creating a large, consolidated SAP competence in Sweden with a strong and broad offering of SAP solutions,” sums up Karima Grönborg Johansson, Partner Director for SAP Nordic & Baltic.

An important manifestation of Implema’s growth strategy
Jörgen Aronsson adds that the deal should be seen as part of Implema’s long-term growth strategy, which combines organic growth with strategic acquisitions. This primarily applies to the core areas of SAP and Microsoft Dynamics, but also other areas within digital transformation.

”The acquisition of CoreChange’s SAP and Business Intelligence business is an important milestone on our journey towards becoming a billion-dollar company and continuing to support our customers’ digital transformation. We now continue to actively seek more acquisitions in Sweden and the Nordic region to further strengthen our position,” he concludes.

No purchase price was stated in the press release.

After the acquisition Implema has just over 280 employees spread across 10 offices, from Malmö in the south to Umeå in the north, and thus has a turnover of just over 500 million SEK.
