TECHNIA’s Acquisition of SIMULIA specialist Scanscot: A Reflection of Changing Product Realization Structures

Why is TECHNIA, one of Dassault Systèmes’ leading PLM channel partners, acquiring another simulation company? PLM&ERP News Editor-in-Chief, Verdi Ogewell, examine the matter in today's article. As recently as the end of 2018, TECHNIA completed acquisitions of UK-based Strategic Simulation & Analysis (SSA) and Dutch SIMULEON. Both companies are known as specialists on Dassault's CAE portfolio, the SIMULIA suite. Presently, they are part of the "Simulation Centre of Excellence" which TECHNIA is investing heavily in building. Today brings another acquisition to the table. TECHNIA has just announced the procurement of Dassault-oriented simulation expert, Scanscot Technology, which is a leading Nordic player in advanced simulation. “They are the region's largest reseller of SIMULIA, but also have a very good reputation as a provider of consulting services in advanced simulation like electro magnetism and antenna design,” says TECHNIA’s CEO, Jonas Gejer. But there are deeper and more technically rewarding reasons for this acquistion, reflecting a trend which partly restructures what the general product development process looks like - even how the products are optimized for use by end customers. How? Click on the link below to read more.
