Multiple Olympic Gold Medalist Usain Bolt Keynote Speaker at the IFS Global User Event in October

ALSO, meet IFS´ CEO MARK MOFFAT UNLEASHED… Exciting things happen when the ERP and business system developer, IFS, conducts its global user conference, IFS Unleashed 2024, in Orlando, Florida, between October 14-18 this fall. In addition to interesting case stories, technology news, panel discussions and hands-on sessions, they have managed to get one of the world's most famous sportsmen as a speaker: Jamaica's multiple World Cup and Olympic gold medalist, Usain Bolt. In these Olympic times, Bolt is a highly current profile and IFS announced today that he will be the company's keynote speaker during the IFS Unleashed event. It is clear that this Swedish world player in the ERP and business system arena is not afraid to take new measures to spread its cause.
Presumably, Bolt will not dwell primarily on the technological aspects of the business systems world, but more tangential bits, such as how to develop a focused mindset, prepare for large projects/events and other things related to mental training and world-class group dynamics.
When it comes to the technology side, it is a given that the AI parts, Artificial Intelligence, get a lot of space. IFS has picked up speed here, and generally speaking, there are now above all three things that apply: AI, the cloud and the sustainability domains. All three are areas in which IFS has a series of initiatives underway.
Just before the summer holiday period, IFS also released several news related to the three development areas mentioned above: Among other things, it launched new functions in IFS Cloud 24R1, which enable companies to improve how they use their assets, sharpen service, drive profitability and use sustainability as a competitive advantage. These new AI-powered features enable customers to improve their operational efficiency and profitability, notes IFS Nordic Manager, Ann-Kristin Sander: Among the speakers during the event is IFS CEO Mark Moffat, who in his keynote discusses the title: "AI-Driven Industry Revolution", a topic that IFS CPO, Christian Pedersen also addresses. Other aspects of AI are these by the chairman of the major global consultancy, PwC, Mohamed Kande, from the stage in Orlando. Moreover, the MIT CISR chairman and senior researcher Peter Weill takes a closer look at how to unlock strategic value in data assets. The extensive list of speakers also includes, for example, paint company Jotun's ERP manager, Trond Aune, Crowheart Energy's IT director, Michael Enright, golf legend Gary Player and many others. This is complemented by a series of breakout sessions within IFS focus areas, such as energy, telecom, aviation and defense, manufacturing and services.

Darren Roos’ successor as CEO of IFS, Mark Moffat (centre) is one of the keynote speakers at the IFS Unleashed event, talking about how AI will revolutionize industry. A question on many people’s lips in these early stages of the AI era is how mature companies and individuals are when it comes to establishing these technologies. Before the Unleshed event, IFS together with the globally highly respected MIT CISR have developed a test about this, which can serve well as a preparation. The ”IFS AI Readiness Program”, as this has been named, is designed to help the company’s customers understand and develop their AI maturity. The program is delivered in two parts, with one part as an online assessment and the other on IFS Unleashed.

The program includes an assessment developed by MIT CISR researchers that guides you through six AI readiness capabilities. Upon completion, you’ll receive a personalized report on your AI maturity and needs, as well as MIT CISR research designed to help digital leaders and practitioners improve AI capabilities.

Researchers from MIT CISR will join IFS Unleashed to deliver workshops, designed to help you lead AI-powered digital transformation. Participants in these workshops will receive an MIT CISR participation badge.

Main advances in the newly updated IFS Cloud version
Having said that, here is also a brief account of some important features of the IFS Cloud 24R1 version released in June 2024:

IFS.ai Copilot: improve decision-making and strengthen user experience and engagement through the IFS AI-powered assistant. In this first version, the assistant can be used for IFS Cloud help and support information.

Loading of transports: improving the processes of transports through a higher utilization of transport capacity and faster loading of goods.

Customer supply chain scheduling: manage multiple open schedules from the same facility simultaneously, increasing productivity and saving time.

Emissions tracking: improvements to follow the organization’s progress towards sustainability more accurately, through the smooth collection of emission data. New selected categories for Scope 3 emissions have been added to provide a more complete picture of the sustainability situation. You can also enter data on kilowatt consumption from invoices from electricity companies.

Support for circular manufacturing: improvements in the planning of remanufacturing processes make it possible to lower production costs. In addition, these functions mean opportunities for new revenue streams and a lower carbon footprint.
