Top PTC Partner PDSVISION Secures a Major LEAP Down Under
Mats Oretorp, CEO of PDSVISION: "This acquisition strengthens our position within both the Ansys and PTC ecosystems".
It did not take long to witness the first major strategic move following the recent leadership transitions at PDSVISION—a $180 million revenue company and the world’s leading value-added reseller (VAR) for PLM developer PTC. Today, the company announced its acquisition of LEAP Australia, a premier provider of PLM-related software and services across Australia and New Zealand.
Backed by a highly skilled team of 70 employees, LEAP brings deep, localized expertise spanning the Simulation & Analysis (S&A) and CAD/CAM, and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) domains. By joining forces, PDSVISION significantly bolsters its position specificallly within the global S&A market. The move expands its digital engineering capabilities across both the Ansys and PTC ecosystems—leveraging core solutions such as ANSYS Mechanical (FEA), Fluent/Fluids (CFD), LS-DYNA (nonlinear applications including crash and safety testing), Creo CAD, and Windchill PLM—while aggressively scaling its operational footprint across the Asia-Pacific region.
This major expansion follows closely on the heels of key board updates reported by PLM&ERP News earlier this week. Industry veteran Åsa Hedin recently stepped in as the new Chairman of the Board, succeeding co-founder Johan Klingvall, who had steered the company since its inception in 2008. Hedin’s mission is clear: to drive the expansive global ambitions of PDSVISION’s majority owners, the private equity firms Bridgepoint and Polaris.
In its official press release, PDSVISION highlights that “LEAP is widely recognized for its customer-centric culture and its leading position within both the Ansys and PTC ecosystems.” The acquisition injects significant scalability, technical expertise, and an established presence into high-growth simulation and analysis markets. Ultimately, the combined organization’s shared strengths in product development, systems engineering, and digital transformation unlock entirely new opportunities to help clients accelerate innovation and optimize business performance across the entire product lifecycle.
PDSVISION CEO Mats Oretorp (pictured) notes that LEAP has built an exceptional business: "They have a stellar reputation for technical excellence, customer success, and innovation. As products and systems grow increasingly complex, simulation and analysis throughout the entire product lifecycle are becoming mission-critical for manufacturing companies. Through this acquisition, we significantly strengthen our global capabilities and build an even more robust platform," he claims.
The combined organization now offers an expanded global network of experts across simulation, CAD, PLM, and systems engineering, as well as ALM and modular architecture.
“We share a corporate culture built on deep expertise, long-term customer relationships, and a genuine passion for helping engineering businesses succeed,” adds Greg Horner, CEO and co-founder of LEAP Australia.
