Millie seconds can make the difference between defeat and victory in Formula 1. This also means that each car component needs to be manufactured with extreme precision. But just as important as performance is that both components and the cars as a whole stay within the detailed regulations of the competition body, the FIA. Most recently in Las Vegas, both of Oracle Red Bull Racing’s main competitors were disqualified when their plates under the cars fell below the minimum thickness of nine millimeters. With Max Verstappen and the Oracle Red Bull Racing team winning these races, they were able to close in on the competitors. The result is that the remaining three races – two regular races and one sprint race – are now open.

Balancing Innovation and Tough Regulations
”Formula 1 is about finding the perfect balance between innovation and compliance with the regulations. Our measurement technology allows Oracle Red Bull Racing to develop and verify design changes at the speed and with the accuracy that is crucial to winning the world championship title. As Max Verstappen now chases the world championship title in the final races, we know that every aerodynamic surface, indeed every component of the car, is precisely verified by our technology to deliver maximum permitted performance on the asphalt,” says Henrik Jansson, Country Leader Nordics at Hexagon.
This spring, the innovation partnership between Hexagon and Oracle Red Bull Racing was renewed, confirming 18 years of joint innovation and success, including four consecutive world championship titles with Max Verstappen behind the wheel. Now the team continues to work on every detail of the cars in the last three crucial races.
