Globally Leading Autodesk Partner SYMETRI Scales New Heights: The FFS Acquisition Opens the Door to South America

Symetri's CEO, JENS KOLLSERUD: "Newly acquired FF Solutions gives us an ENTRY TICKET to the expansive BRAZILIAN MARKET". Swedish Addnode Group's subsidiary Symetri, a globally leading VAR (Value Added Reseller) partner within the Autodesk sphere, announced last week that it had made its second American acquisition of the summer. This time the deal concerns South America, where it has signed an agreement to buy FF Solutions (FFS) in Brazil. This company is one of Brazil's largest Autodesk partners with a business area spanning technology, consulting and training solutions for the country's rapidly growing construction, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. FFS's net sales in 2025 are expected to amount to around $1 million.
The first deal that Addnode made during the summer–also related to the Symetri and Autodesk sphere–is the purchase announced in July of the smaller North American Repro Products and the part which handles Autodesk software. This company also landed in Addnode’s division Design Management and Symetri. 80% of the purchased business is concentrated in the AEC area.
As for the latest purchase, FFS, it is a significantly larger player. The company was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil. The company has increased its market share in recent years. By combining a strong portfolio of technology solutions with proven industry expertise, it gives customers the opportunity to create value and promote their digital transformation. This profile, according to Symetri CEO Jens Kollserud (pictured), makes FFS a perfect match for Symetri. Not least because it provides an entry ticket to the dynamic Brazilian market, access to local talent and a platform that creates an opportunity to introduce Symetri's own portfolio of productivity and sustainability solutions such as Naviate, Sovelia PLM and CQ to a new market. In addition, FSS's network of industry experts has the potential to become an asset to Symetri's customers in other markets.
"The team at FFS has captured our enthusiasm with their ambition, technical expertise and diversity. We not only believe that we can accelerate the work they do with their customers, we also believe that they will challenge us to innovate faster and raise the bar for creativity and impact," says Jens Kollserud.
Clearly the Addnode subsidiary Symetri has created an interesting expansion towards the American markets. The company established itself in North America already in 2022 through the acquisition of Microdesk and the following year through Team D3. With the purchase of FFS, a foothold is now also being created in South America, which will be a milestone on a growth journey that looks set to continue at a high pace. When Addnode's figures for the second quarter of 2025 were reported during the summer, the company exceeded expectations, despite Autodesk having significantly changed its resellers' business conditions, how so?

Marilia Frazillio, CEO and owner of FFS, says in a comment on the merger with Symetri that it creates new and greater value for the company’s customers:
”Absolutely, joining forces with Symetri gives us the opportunity to contribute to creating smarter, more vibrant cities and a more advanced, globally competitive manufacturing sector. Together, we will be able to support our customers in their ambition to work smarter and more sustainably”.

In other respects regarding this deal, Addnode/Symetri notes in a press release4 that the acquisition is not subject to any closing conditions. “Completion is expected to take place on August 1, 2025, and FFS will be consolidated as part of Symetri in Addnode Group’s Design Management division.”

Addnode Group CEO, Johan Andersson (pictured), has made a very successful journey regarding the leadership of the group, which includes world-leading VARs, resellers and partners of major PLM players such as Symetri (Autodesk partner) and TECHNIA (Dassault Systemes partner). The company has also developed a strong fundamental business and that it has positioned itself well for the explosive development expected in terms of technology development in the product development area; a position that, given the strong competence development that has always characterized Addnode Group’s PLM and design divisions, will require a lot of consulting efforts and related software. AI, electrification and electronics are some examples of these factors. Exceeded expectations in the latest quarterly report
In general, it can be noted that Addnode Group has made an impressive growth journey in both PLM and more specifically also the AEC area, the latter not least through Symetri.

When the company recently reported its figures for the second quarter of 2025, the reactions were positive: in short, the company exceeded expectations, even though sales fell. The latter, however, has a very reasonable explanation in Autodesk’s changed business model.
In the report on July 14, 2025, for the second quarter of 2025, sales in fact fell 27.3 percent to $143.0 million. But the result itself was received positively because it exceeded market expectations. The reason why the reported sales fell so significantly is Autodesk’s changed business model, where they have taken over customer billing themselves and then send the VAR’s or reseller’s share to, in this case, Symetri. Previously, the entire billing loop was handled by the reseller.
Moreover, Addnode wrote in the quarterly report that the organic growth is 34% if they had reported in the same way this year as before. But the EBITA result amounted to $25 million ($16.7 the same period last year), with an EBITA margin of 16.3 percent (8.1).

It is clear that the CEO Johan Andersson has successfully run the group since taking the helm in 2017. The latest purchases show that the focus is on continued expansion. It is notable that the world’s leading Dassault Systemes-VAR, TECHNIA, is also part of the Addnode Group. With good diversification overall in the group, the future prospects also continue to look very promising:
”When we look ahead, we are confident in our companies’ ability to adapt their offering and organization to demand and economic conditions in each market,” said Johan Andersson, in a comment after the latest report.
